I'm sorry. I wish there was more I could do.
Have you posted in the illness and emergencies section, just in case?

Not your fault

Bonnie I think that some of them simply succumb to stress. That's a hard trip. (they came from the states right?) That "accidental" shipment I got came all alive but I lost 7 withing 3 days. The stronger ones make it better I think, but its tough on the weaker ones.

Yes, I ordered from Ideal.

Mine were all alive too, one I knew wouldn't make it. But now it's official, I have lost 4 out of 17. I think if they had used packing peanuts they might have made it, but who knows?

The ones Ideal sent me by mistake were packed together in the box. They don't need food or water for a few days, and I think the P.O. did a good job for their part, but that has to be a stressful trip. I need to get over there and see your flock! We are on hold here with Dad so I've not gone far, but I will head over there on Tuesday if I can. I'd love to see them all, and your coop!

I hope the rest are ok, they seem pretty perky this morning, so we'll see. Am having a hard time keeping the temp steady, but rather it was too hot as there's TONS of room for them to move away.

I hope you can make it over, it's been a crazy busy weekend so far! Let's hope it continues thru the summer!

Wolfwoman,

I don't know if you have ever tried this or not, but when we get shipped chicks, they go on Avia Charge for the first week. http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/avian_charge_2000.html and haven't lost a shipped chick
since we started using it. After the first week we then use the cheaper electrolytes and vitamins for a few more weeks.....

Donna, my rabbit sexer will be here tomorrow and we'll officially know what we have...
