Let us know how you like those nipple drinkers. I have been looking at them some.
I called the airport post office this morning and "no" they did not have my Sandhill babies. So, I went on with life. It was 2pm and I was talking to the neighbors in the back yard, the honey wagon had just pulled up, Rooto Rooter had just called and was on the way and the kids came flying out the back door yelling that the chicks were here. Given a choice of who to tend to first, I said goodbye to the neighbors, ran up the back stairs to the deck and into the dining room to check on the chicks. They were all peeping and fine. I got everybody else taken care of and then went back to commune with my new babies. So here is the breakdown of how many of each I got:
12 Black Australorp
4 Buff Chantecler
6 Buff Wyandotte
4 Black Jersey Giants
2 Black Wyandottes
5 Cuckoo Dorkings
4 Delawares
4 Red Chanteclers
4 Rose Comb RIR
7 White Jersey Giants
The kids said the Postman wanted know if we were raising Sandhill Cranes...I wish.
I wish I knew who was who. They are just the cutest things. I have a girl friend who wants a few layers. I am sure I will have extra cockerals if anyone is interested in having them for breeding purposes only. Otherwise they are going to freezer camp.
You know, when you order assorted heavies you can get almost anything. I was so glad I didn't get Naked Necks. I'm sure they are beautiful to their mommas, but not to me.
I am very pleased with what I got. I guess I am not heart broken that I did not get the Buckeyes I ordered. I am off to check pictures of the breeds and see if I can tell who is who.
