I promise I will wait patiently for the verdict. I think you're a couple of hours ahead of me, so after 6 pm my time.

I'm excited all over again, myself... I just picked up 12 black silkie eggs from show quality stock.

They were in excellent shape, and I'm just hoping that the cold didn't get them.

Well, I candled. I am down to 2 Mille Fleurs and the 3 LB's.

Becky's eggs numbered 7,8, 9, and 10 look like they started to develop, and quit.

Michelle Egg # 12 quit around what looks like day 10 development.
Feathers Egg # 13 was questionable on day 7, but was obvious tonight that it never developed.
Michelle Egg # 17 quit developing. Blood ring had developed.
Michelle Egg #18 Same as 17.

Light Brahma eggs 1, 2, and 3 are all doing great! Very active chicks swimming in each egg!

Feathers Egg 11 has a very active chick and HUGE veins!

Same with Michelle Egg 16, very active swimming chick and huge veins!

Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain :

Hmmm... I wonder what happened? They were developing!

It's probably an issue on my end. I had a humidity problem, but it's all fixed now.

Not your fault! But I am really happy about the 3 LB's and I am really hoping one of them hatches out to be a Rooster!

With my luck, the one time I need a roo, they'll all be girls!

Wish you were closer... I'd give you a roo! I think chances are good 1 out of the three will be a roo.

I haven't gotten any photos of the chicks yet... can't believe I've been too busy to take photos.

Glad I found this thread. Just e-mailed Tori about shipping in cold weather. It is soooo tempting to get eggs, but hesitant to do so with the cold night temps. I'm sure they would freeze in the back of the mail truck on the way to the PO. Would love to hear others experience. Sure see a lot of eggs being shipped either to or from northern climates.

gjfarm, I replied to your email... but you know, I bet if you posted what you were looking for in the Buy/Sell/Trade section, you might find someone in Montana, or at least a little closer, that can get you eggs sooner. We're still waiting to see the outcome of this, and Vicki's eggs but I've heard of a lot of people getting shipments now. I actually got 12 black silkie eggs in the mail on Monday... and I'm getting eggs from another BYCer shipped out tomorrow.

I may be taking a chance, but it's relatively warm right now (24°F and snowing) and not sub-zero.
