Hi- I need to know who has used Albendazole / Valbazen med for tapeworm? How did you give it to your chickens? I have about 20 chickens that need wormed and I dont know the exact amount to give them. Please tell me what you do. Thanks~ Tacey

I used valbazene for a general worming. I dosed the chickens orally and it was nowhere near as hard as I thought it would be. We went into the coop before letting them out one morning. My DH grabbed a chicken while I drew up the valbazene in a needleless syringe. Opened the beak and squirted it in. Once dosed, he turned the chicken loose out the door so nobody got double dosed.
If they won't open the beak, just tug gently on their wattles. The beak will open.
I used 1/2 cc per chicken for standard size birds.
Toss the eggs for two weeks.
Valbazene is also used in humans with worms, so I'm not sure the eggs even need to be tossed; but I did.
ETA: Use 1/4 cc for bantams.
