I saw someone here who has put a bail of alfalfa into their run. The HenCam page has done this and it looks great.
Has anyone else here tried that and likes/dislikes?
How much can I expect to pay for a bail of it.
Do they eat it?
Any input appreciated,
Thanks,
Steve

I put Alfalfa in my run and in the coop. The girls loved scratching in it and eating it. I paid $12. for a bale. I do this during the winter when they are cooped up. Now that it is spring and they are free ranging during the day they get straw in the coop (absorbs poop) because it is a fraction of the price. They eat the straw too.
