Last time we used paint this time I grabbed both, the stain said waterproofing.... I think we will add a coat of the paint over the top.... I kinda think I like the pinkish??? Oh well chickens dont care.Did you use paint or stain on the others?
Good coat of paint will lock them up, stain maybe not so much.
I look forward to seeing your breeding pens come together, am a bit jealous.
What are your breeding plans?
Will each pen also have a separate run?
I am working twords some faster maturing meatier birds.... I started with A Large white rooster that was given to me, I lost him earlier this year? I am currently working with some of his sons. One is a white Necked neck with blue feet, (his nick name is blue foot, I am not very original with the names) he is currently over my red broiler hens. The other rooster that I am using is a Big delaware cross, Big Boy, he was hatched almost exactly a year ago and hit 5 pounds st 12 weeks! Some of his offspring show potential to get big and fast.
Oh and I am trying to keep some dark egg layers going and the green and blue layers, but mainly ones that lay a Lot of eggs.
One of the big pushes to get this built now is the fact that I am out of room for the growouts that are not quite ready to move into laying houses. I have a rather large bunch that were hatched in may, some purchased Delaware, leghorns, wellsummer, black austolorp, white Plymouth rock, and of course some of my Nn projects.. oh and a couple turkeys.
I have a number of birds that will need processing before nov. Because the plan is to not carry anything that doesnt fit a breeding program into winter, except the growouts......
