One thing though. Are those perches rounded off? I understand that the birds can develop bumble foot on 90 degree edges.

Got a few things accomplished one roosting bar installed

Nice build with the hinges for cleaning...but that seems like a lot of roost for that small space....how many birds do you plan on keeping in there? Maybe it's an optical illusion and it doesn't take up too much floor space.

Bumblefoot is caused by a staph infect in and open wound...but, yeah, those roosts don't look comfortable, the 'flat' should be horizontal.

It's a 4x8 house space for growouts.... at 4 weeks to 2.5 months I forget the recommended space per bird??? My current growout space lacks perches all together so it's an improvement. The perch pieces were actually recycled railings.... I do plan to add a block under the bottom so that the perch part sits more flat

Got all 3 roosting bars done

also managed to get one more pass of overhead wire up, but didnt get pics....next we have to connect the overhead wire to the building front.

So when you want to clean underneath you can just raise the roost, move the block and rake it out?

By 10 weeks they'll need the typically recommended 4sqft per bird, so I'd plan on that from the get-go. I think these roosts are an 'over-improvement'...they are just taking up too much space, more for you to move around in there than anything else.

They'll need to be raised to do about anything in there.

I understand wanting to use the railings as roosts, but they are just too big for the space. I'd cut them in half and put 2 hinged legs to hold them horizontal instead of that board.

The house will be open to them 24 hours a day and they will have access to the outside run witch will be 200 sq feet so ??? The roost take up half the floor space but for a sleeping quarters it makes sense to me.
The bottom board is screwed on. So when I raise the roost it goes up to.

By the time we get this built it may be time to use it as breeding pens with s rooster and up to 6 hens. The pictures do not show it but there is enough space at the front to fit in a double nesting box. Nothing fancy I figure I can flip it over while it's a growout so the babies do not learn to sleep in it.

Finally got the wire across the top installed and buttoned up

to connect the chicken wire to the house we used a sandwich theory where we screw a 1x4 board over the wire.

i am very happy that the wire is high enough it will not interfere with the doors

the completed complex.
Still a few minor things to finish like the doors to the coop.... but its predator proof now
