Hello, the ego's are collected every other day and the chickens free range, dows this help?
Every other day?
Try collecting them daily and see if the spotting stops.
It may have something to do with sitting in the heat for that long.
Assuming it is hot where you are.

Mississippi coast area, so we are in the heat, after about 10 years here this is the first I have seen blotchy ego's, none of the green shells show any discoloration, this was a batch of about 13 egg's collected, we have multiple chickens laying, no particular breed, just what ever mix the hen and rooster be, one rooster is all reddish and the other is very colorful with beautiful blackish/blue tail feathers.....

No oyster shells provided, and the chicken scratch is a mix made up by the feed store, let's see, it has crushed corn, millet seeds, wheat seeds, sunflower seed's, pellet's with a light touch of molasses applied, been feeding them the same scratch for about 3 years, oh, recently a coon reached in a cage and ate all the chicks in it, so I mixed the rest maybe 20# of chick starter in with the scratch.....ps. the racoon went to racoon heaven since the ordeal. Ms. still allows us to have shotgunz.

Forage time depends, usually it's atleast 8 hours, unless I go out to town, livestock auction, yada blah, then I keep them up till I get home, hawks buzz by at times, if I'm outside at the garden working about they tend to shy off, shhhhh, do not let them know they are protected here, it's safer for the chickens if the hawks think I'm a guardian.

Not a balanced diet for laying Hens. I feed a grower with oyster shell in a separate bowl..
