Thank you for posting this. This is what I was wondering about.
I am not NPIP certified, but was going to actually post questions about it, because the information is so scattered throughout the forums. I've been talking to my husband about becoming certified and if I make to auction on Monday I will speak to the people here from UC Davis. I know they do the testing in my area and since it was the college I was supposed to attend way back when I feel like they are family. LOL They test all stock at out poultry auctions. Their mostly testing for Avian Flu. They do these tests first and formost and then test for other diseases. I always check with them about any birds I am interested in and they have been very helpful, so I'm sure they will give me some answers.
So we know now that in order to use the Train we need to get everyone thinking about becoming certified.
It does look from what I read so far that we are OK within each state, so at least we can get started offering some help to each of our neighbors.
We are going to need a monitoring board to make sure we're all up on any and all state and government laws. We're keeping it legal!
This could become a huge endevour, so I hope some of you are still willing to help us grow.
If we can get the legalities taken care of in a timely manor that would be helpful, but it would go smoother and faster if there was a group who was willing to find the information and work together to make sure there are no holes left. If someone is willing to take this on, please send a pm to me or Terry. Make sure you put something in the subject line that lets us know you want to do this. We're getting more pms than we know what to do with and want to keep them straight.
