All-around Naturalist Thread

I don’t consider myself a naturalist that sounds too fancy. I do like lizards, birds, plants, and of course chickens

You don't have to be a full on naturalist! I think anyone who enjoys nature and stuff is welcome! Nobody has to call you a naturalist... and you don't have to call yourself it. I've sure never gone up to someone and said, "Hey. I'm a naturalist." We'd definitely enjoy any nature pics or just chatting with you about butterflies or whatever!

i have a weird hobby (maybe its not weird i don't know) but i like to document all the animals located on the land the family owns. got three different property's i keep track of.
don't really take pictures. but make lists of all what has been found.

Hi you all, this is the thread that I was waiting for!
Here are some caterpillars (or at least I think they are, but sadly I don't know much about these critters!) that I found where I live.
Aren't they fascinating? I'm crazy about these little aliens!

That's not weird, it seems like it would be really interesting to list all the animals around!

I think that's cool! What have you found?

i have found quite a few different things. (one for the fact that i survey 3 different property's and two each are in a different area so different animals around)
the first list i got,
foxes, coyotes, weasels, coons, jack rabbits, mule deer, white tail deer, moose, elk (only a horn found never seen one), Hungarian partridges, sharp tail grouse. skunks,


the second list i got is from our north Property, about 3 miles from the Boreal forest.
foxes, coyotes, wolves, cougars, lynx, marten, fisher, mink, weasels, wolverine, skunks, otter, coons, black bears, white tail deer, elk, moose. ruffed grouse, spruce grouse.

Me and my dad could both classify as 'naturalists' I suppose -- We really love identifying different birds, plants and animals.
