Hi Everyone-
The unbearable cuteness of quail chicks sucked me in and I think "the chicken math" has already got the better of me - I came here to feed my quail obsession, fell for ducks, and then I decided will definitely need some chickens too! (and some meat birds, and maybe a couple of geese and...) My envisioned future backyard is getting really busy!
I have already learned a tremendous amount from the BYC community and hope to learn much more! I excited to participate in this wonderful supportive community. Although I grew up around chickens and other livestock, I haven't yet owned any fowl myself. Shifting towards growing my own food is very important to me. I am loving exploring breeds, following users through their challenges and successes, while soaking up all the knowledge I can to prepare for when I have birds of my own.
I live in the PNW but dream daily of returning to a much more tropical locale.

I kept quail for over a decade. It was love at first sight.
