but i am hoping to get an EE from a swap soon. i would love to get an olive egger but will settle for a green egg layer of any color beause the ameraucanas i have are b/b/s one pullet of each color that i am waiting for them to lay eggs...its been long enough pop one out already...lol i saw the eggs that the breeder gets from his birds and theya re the most beautiful sky blue so im hoping...

From the moment I saw this little guy (who I hoped was a girl) at a few days old, I just fell in love with him. My family did too. Our 4 year old daughter named him "Peckerpoo", and yes, we unfortunately still call him that...poor guy. Sadly, it is totally up in the air whether we'll be able to keep him or not, but we'll see how loud he is and if he does alright sectioned off with only one or two of the girls. He is calm and sweet, despite his angry look!

Question: Does anyone know how long it takes for them to get spurs? He has none and not even any little bumps where they would be. He is 13 weeks old. Any thoughts on that? Thanks!

I have 2 Ameraucanas, and 4 EEs right now. Two of them are Roos. I love love love them. They're pretty, diverse, and sweet. And the colored eggs make people say "Oooh I bet those are good."

NOT a good picture of my boy at all, but oh well...

I got him from Justusnak, and he's an absolute sweetheart.

As for the spurs, mine that were hatched in early February are just starting to get nubbins.

I have two in my flock of 11 pullets. One is brown with a golden head. DH calls her the golden eagle. The other has a buff head and almost white backend. They are Bonnie and Vanessa. I'll have to get pics of the two of them up close. Can't wait to see their eggs. I've never had EEs before!

Vanessa is in the back left corner near the black australorp and is near the front to the right of the silkie roo. Definitely need a better picture!

Ahh Texas Star, Big Mama there looks just like my little Butterball, except she has a gold head. And her friend that's mostly black looks just like my Easter Baby too! Easter Baby gives me olive green eggs and Butterball gives me a blueish green egg.
