i know what you mean bout it being crazy around here i live in a house of 4 with 3 in and out cats a 1yr old puppy and a 13yr old dog ; 2 outside dogs , chickens, ducks, goats, donkey, pigs(i am going to have about 3 litters soon :D), rabbits;i used to have fish, turkeys, and a horse

i have always wanted to raise a few quails are they hard to raise

sorry i didnt see your post earlier i have been duck hunting and i got home cleaned birds, fed the animals and fell asleep
quail arn't too hard IMO, but they can have this annoying habit of pecking each other. They are pretty sensitive to change, but their eggs are great, they are cute, and they taste good :) I'm no expert on them...my friend dumped a bunch on me so i was totally unprepared, but after a bumpy start, everyone has settiled in and i want to expand (there is a huge market where i am at for quail to train hunting dogs).

Sorry it took so long to answer...it has been a busy week :)

haha, bummer, i know how ya feel
duck eggs are my favorite...i've never had a turkey egg. Quail eggs don't taste too much different than chickens eggs, but they fun to cook cause they are so tiny. I like to hard boil them and make little "quail poppers." Duck eggs are probably more useful, because they are not so tiny. Though, the nice thing about quail is once they start laying, every girl will give you one egg a day, and they mature really quick (like 6 weeks and they are laying).
