i have 3 nigerian drawfs and not alot of people have heard about themI have 30 chickens around 5 weeks old and 2 baby nigerian goats! I live on about half an acre of grass and a little less that of woods.

yes i guess you could say in my 4-h there is only one other person with them that is interestingDo you mean the breed in general? Around here they are very popular, most of the people in my 4h club own at least a couple.yes

i guess i always thought they were a smaller species which is why people didnt really hear of them i guess not i just learned something for sureThat's strange, in NJ they are very popular. I guess in different regions they are not a popular breed.
quail arn't too hard IMO, but they can have this annoying habit of pecking each other. They are pretty sensitive to change, but their eggs are great, they are cute, and they taste goodya i know what you mean about dogs having a serious prey drive i lost turkeys, chickens that way
roosters are never my fav chickens arent but roosters are especially not
i know what you mean bout it being crazy around here i live in a house of 4 with 3 in and out cats a 1yr old puppy and a 13yr old dog ; 2 outside dogs , chickens, ducks, goats, donkey, pigs(i am going to have about 3 litters soon), rabbits;i used to have fish, turkeys, and a horse
i have always wanted to raise a few quails are they hard to raise
sorry i didnt see your post earlier i have been duck hunting and i got home cleaned birds, fed the animals and fell asleep

They are pretty sensitive to change, but their eggs are great, they are cute, and they taste goodI'm no expert on them...my friend dumped a bunch on me so i was totally unprepared, but after a bumpy start, everyone has settiled in and i want to expand (there is a huge market where i am at for quail to train hunting dogs).
