All Grown Up Now ~ 41 Weeks Old~ New Pics Post 223(01/15/12)~

That pic is a bit deceiving, Stan. Gloria Jean is actually a good bit smaller than both Buff Orps and somewhat smaller than the Barred Rocks. Sitting on that roost pole, she looks larger than what she really is. She sure is a pretty thing, though!

Here is Miss Gloria Jean. Isn't she a lovely thing?

Here is Rex, who is currently my good buddy, as you can see by him sitting on my knee getting his wattles rubbed in one pic.

They all heard thunder and were a bit nervous. Never got any rain, just thunder. Left to Right: Rufus, Aubrey, Hope, Aimee and Molly:

I'm not great at naming other people's chickens. Took me ages to figure out names for these Rocks. I almost decided not to even name the girls at all. Maybe a name synonymous with something in Florida like one of the explorers? Juan Ponce de Leon? See? Told you I'm terrible at it. Can't name a rooster Kathy, LOL!

Stan stan stan.......

Hey, that boy is yours, he's not mine anymore. I just hope he's not getting a complex, being the only "white boy" in that gorgeous group of barreds you got.

Kathy, here are the BR girls for you. Ida is the largest, Dottie is the smallest with Wynette the mid sized one, but none are small, by any means. They are only 9 weeks, so their plumage will, of course, undergo changes. The leg color, I hope will improve with age, but that is what you seem to battle with the show types for some reason. Maybe my Amanda and Becca will help that issue if I can get Rex to mating age before they kick the bucket since they're already over 4 years old.

Closest to camera is Dottie, then Wynette, then Ida nearest the fence--they didn't want to stand up for me.

This is Ida, who may even be larger than Rex at this point.
