Those barreds are BRUTES! Can't believe that wonderful size to them. Are they also hefty when you pick them up?

They pretty chunky, yep. Ida seems actually larger at this point than Rex is! That is one big girl!

Here is Dottie. She is not small by any means, but is the smallest of the three girls. Her comb is a tiny bit irregular, but not bad at all.

Rex, my pal. I am almost holding my breath to see how his temperament is when the hormones begin to flow. So far, he's calm and sweet

Shelby, the Olive Egger. She is broader bodied than Maretta by a little bit. I just think she is so pretty.

I am going to have to get some "emergency eggs" from this boy, for sure. Oh, Shelby (my maiden name) is so cool. She is a beautiful color and I love her little face.

I remember now that it's your maiden name, Ellie! Maybe that's why it just hit me that her name should be Shelby one day, just popped into my head suddenly, didn't realize where it came from.

Well, the crew turned 15 weeks old Wednesday and thought I should post a few pics here. Some didn't cooperate, but here they are, especially my man, Rex. He's still not crowing, but he's sweet so far. Please excuse this pen--we are waiting for a break in this atrociously hot weather to till it under again; I'm aware it really needs some conditioning, but we haven't had one single suitable day since I moved them in this coop.
