All hens... 1 nest box. Ugh.

I have 8 pullets and 3 boxes. I had golf balls in each box, but took them out of their favorite nest after a while since several were using it daily. A week or two went by and I noticed they were no longer laying in that box. I put the golf ball back, and off they went again. They seem to use all three off and on, but for the first time ever, yesterday, all 7 eggs that were laid were in the same box. I'm sure I'll never figure them out.

Strange.... I didn't get any notifications that there were replies, so I assumed there were none. I'm out of town for a couple of days, but I'll put the golf balls ack in the boxes again when I get home. They were in there when they came of age in order to convince them to lay in there, but I've since removed them. Thanks for the ideas... I'll try that.

Keep one fake egg in each nest.
Tho location could be the issue...any way to put them all right next to each other?

The boxes are all side by each along a wall. The only difference is proximity to the coop door, and amount of light coming in from the window.

I have 2 dividers in a long box that separates the 3. I almost wonder if I should just remove them an then they have 4' of laying room. kind of like you appear to have.

Logistically, yes. Yours is much cooler looking though!!

Worth a mention is that some of the little buggers are perfectly content to lay in my compost bin.
