i was able to find ONE breeder in my area that had polish creasted, silkies and lavender orpingtons.... i was going to pick them up 2 hours away from my home tommorow. well guess what??? she just informed me that she didn't save me any and the ALL were taken. JUST MY LUCK!!!:hit:hit:hit:hit I have been wanting chicks for SO LONG and now there gone. i was really hoping to get some QUAILITY birds. not just feed store who knows what.:hit i am so sad i literately started crying when i saw the email. i was GOING to order my chicks A MONTH ago but this breeder had just stuck eggs in the bator. WHYYY MEE????!?!?!:hit

Sorry, I've had stuff like that happen to me too over the years. I get upset for a bit, than I get busy finding other options. Thankfully the world is full of chickens, maybe you won't find those combinations together again, but perhaps something else just as nice. :hugs

yep. i have picked up a new attitude to be thankful for whatever chicks i get since it was a far off dream not too long ago. I am just sorta a go big or go home type of person. an then later realize reality... i do not have the money to spend $200 on a trio of seramas that could get killed by a skunk..:lau:gig at least i am getting chicks. even if they aren't the show quality i wanted!:love

Some of my favorite chickens came from a hatchery. Glad you are going to go on. :)

Doesn’t that just tick you off! I dealt with the same thing at my local feed store waiting and waiting call after call “are they here?! are they here?!” The day finally comes and they say there’s only a few left let alone the breeds I had been waiting for specifically. All the times calling no one ever told me I should or could reserve them! Oh was I hot when I came in to see what was left! But those cute little fuzz balls just melt your heart no matter what the breed.
