I lost the second male, and first female pictured 2 days ago from the cold.

I think the rooster fell off the roost in the middle of the night and froze to death, then his hen followed shortly after.

On man, that's a hared break. I'm always worried about this happening even being as far south as I am.

Yes, even the slightest cold snap can trigger them. It's so sad.

I'm going to be having one of those cold snaps soon. Next week we'll be in the high 20s for 6+ hrs. Dropping from 63 to 36 on Saturday night!

If you haven't already, I would highly recommend getting and wrapping your coops in greenhouse plastic.
I did that for my OEGB, and it's working great so far.

I will have dubble layered tarps before the weather hits. I only have one I'm worried about right now that hasn't taken to the cold at all. She will be getting to stay in the house.
