All my ducks need rehomed

i would certainly keep a female but i can't drive that far for a duck...

@lmnohos I'm not sure how far you are but I'd meet you half way up to a couple hours if it meant getting a good home. I've been reading over the other ordinances and I MAY be able to get 5 to slide as the upper most limit as a pet so that means rehoming 4 (really trying not to get my hopes up that I'll be able to keep any but I can't bear to deal with parting with all of them yet.) as of now I'm going to plan on keeping my saxony drake, 2 female pekins, blue runner, and blue swedish. My 2 khakis (male and female) female Pekin, and female buff will be needing homes for sure if anybody can help or is interested.

Keep a written record of what you saw when. Including the police guy creeping around your property. Did he have a warrant? Include as many details as you can. Dates. Sounds. Conversations. Quotes.

No he didn't have a warrant. I have been trying to figure out what he was doing on the access road all day and can't. It's only my garage and a neighbors garage on it then goes off into a cornfield. It doesn't even have a name and doesn't even get plowed in the winter so it's not even a "real" road. Sometimes they back in there to do their paperwork but one of the older cops does in the day all the time and sees my ducks and never has a problem. Most of our cops here are our trying to stop the teenagers that are car hopping or people selling heroin and meth. That one is after my ducks I guess. Sorry for rambling I'm still bitter. We really do have good cops here though. This one just has a rep for being a jerk though the rest are great

i am in saint john indiana zipcode 46373. i would have to be absolutely positively sure i'm getting a female. i bought a "female" from craigslist, drove an hour to get it & "she" is getting a drake feather & has not QUACKED once!

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I have been searching for another female with no luck. I already have two spoiled Pekin females; I want another female, but not a Pekin. Just want a little variety. I would be willing to meet you in Ogden, IL perhaps, which is halfway and about an hour and a half drive, if it comes to that. I hope it doesn't, for your and your children's sake.

Meeting went terrible. They told me it was a zoning issue and nothing they could do and I'd have to pay the fee and file the paperwork for a zoning variance. The town attorney made his opinion pretty clear that he thought it would get denied even if I file but I still might. I feel like I have to try. That being said if anybody is interested in any of my ducks I will not deny any of them a good forever home at this point, including my favorites with as bleak as it's looking. 3 female pekins, female blue Swedish, female blue runner, female buff, 2 khakis, saxony drake. I know the saxony is a drake but he is beautiful and was one I was going to keep. He also hasn't been overly aggressive since we got him and kind of keeps to himself. He's one of my top 3 favorites

It also seems in poor taste to say now, but you are looking so, I am very interested in your blue runner. Can you tell me about her and her temperment especially?

The blue runner is bubbles and the Swedish is buttercup. They are still young. June 13th they were hatched. They are definitely starting to feather out. The buff was also from that same hatch. Bought from metzer farms. These are my youngest. They have their little quacks going. The blue runner is better at being picked up than buttercup. Buttercup isn't bad and will cuddle and I think is personally prettier, but bubbles has the better personality over the 2. Honestly the ones that really break my heart (I cried at the council meeting tonight) are my first 3 that I've the longest and grew the closest to. I know it's stupid but I'm worried they will think I don't love them or didn't want them and be scared in their new home since we're all they've ever known. Like I'm tearing up now just thinking about it.
