All my ducks fly like bricks
Chrissy is the only one I have seen go more than 1 ft in the air, but she is really small. She still didn't stay airborne for long though...LOL
The lesson here is KNOW YOUR DUCK BREED! Some are bred for egg production, some for meat, and some for show. Some can fly, many can't. Some HAVE to have open water, some just like to play in it but can be fine without it. Some roost, some do not. Some will raise their own young, others require an incubator or helpful foster-chicken.
Know what you need, what you want, and what you are capable of handling then buy accordingly.
