Well, I have gone and done it. I just finished up placing the last of my orders for shipped eggs. Planning to put them in the incubator on 5/15 for a 4th/5th of June* hatch date. Never have attempted to hatch shipped eggs so this could be a train wreck (ok 99% sure it will be a train wreck, but I am a glutton for punishment). I have three different orders coming in from different breeders for a total of 6 EE, 6 OE, 6 White Leghorns, and 6 sizzle/cochin mixes. Hoping for the best but if I walk away with one of each kind at the end of this journey I will be eggstatic!

Any pointers or advice will be welcomed!

We have peeping and tapping this morning! And probably the most exciting news is the Olive Egg that was too dark for me to ever seen in is alive!!! I can see it moving around pushing on the air sac. Hoping that one makes it out....

Ended the hatch with three frizzles and an OE. The leghorn was a bad position and didn’t make it. But we have a buff, white, and a mystery colored frizzle and the cutest darn OE I have EVER seen. Any ideas what it might look like when it grows up? Yellow wing tips and belly and then this face...

Just wanted to update. The seller did honor their guarantee! They said they might not be able to ship until next week, but I'm fine with that! Hopefully we'll get a better hatch rate this time. :fl

ONE OF THE LEGHORNS IS ALIVE! That was a fun surprise. I candled one last time before tossing the duds and there was a sneaky one, so we have 3 frizzles, 1 leghorn, and 2 questionable OE.

Today is day 13 so we are getting there. My air cells were really big on day 7 (at least I think they are, there isn't a good air cell to be found and the saddles are confusing me) so I upped the humidity and am hoping to get them back on track.
