I have a 10 x 10 dog cage for my ducks housing. 8feet is covered by a roof and 2 feet only covered by chicken wire. The 2 feet that isn’t covered let’s rain in and so walking up to his pool deck is a muddy mess! I’ve seen people put the all purpose sand down so it’s not so muddy. My question is..is it safe for my duck? Will it wash off into my yard? I don’t want little pebbles all over my yard when we mow. I just want the muddy part limited. Thanks all!

Certain sands are not considered safe by some poultry keepers. It seems to be a big divide between peeps for sand, and against.
Its like the Hatfields, and McCoys. :gig I am one for sand, but my preference is course concrete grade sand. River sand is also a good choice. If you have reservations about sand, then may I suggest gardening mulch, like wood chips. Don't get the colored/dyed type, opt for natural.
WISHING YOU BEST............................. :highfive:
