At the Bluebonnet Classic every year we ask for help but no one ever does. We are just 4 old people and tearing down is a tremendous chore. Everybody wants to just show up and go home. You can count on 1 hand the number of poultry clubs in Texas. 20 years ago there were over 20 clubs, a show on every corner and every weekend. But we all got older and no one wants to help.
We have raised our entry fees to $3 in order to hire laborers to set up and tear down. Next year it will likely be $3.50. We don't try to make money on the shows only to break even.
