I have 10 black australorps, and 10 buff orp chicks and an americana rooster. I saw your post on waco Craigs List for the rooster chicks just didnt act quickly enough

I'm going!

I'm still hunting for my goose/geese friends. I've heard scary stuff about biosecurity, though.

My flock is clean and healthy, not even pasty-backside on my chicks.

BUT the horror stories abound.

I think the risk will be worth it though.

in the brooder...but I cannot say male or female for awhile, and I am not experienced in manual sexing.

Good luck on your hunt, I am sure there will be some at the killeen auction!

I bought 3 australorps from a guy in the Bellmead area. When I went and picked them up I was blown away at his 'brooder house' when I walked in it was like a whole house was nothing but a house for eggs, chicks and whatever else. He was really nice, found him on craigslist. Yea, I thought I took down the listing, but I guess it never posted. I posted it and someone came and picked them up that next night. They were also from Oglesby.

Yea I think that would be a great idea! I was wondering if one of the local Tractor Supply's would be interested in hosting one. I wonder if there was enough of us, if we could get the HOT in Waco to start doing shows again.

I would show up, certainly! I have a couple neighbors who, though they do not have "new-fangled electric gadjets" do enjoy poultry and would probably come, also.
