No worries to be had here, we've gotten it inspected and there are only very minor repairs needed and the water heater is a bit old. Our agent actually also goes to our parish and my husband knows him personally, lol. It's going well.
 
The only thing I don't like is that it's in the city. It is in a nice little suburb on a corner with a very nicely sized lot. But I'll be there probably for the next decade at least. I've spent my entire life with land and neighbors at a distance and now it's entirely different. I don't even know yet if we'll be able to have chickens, and if we can't have that barest minimum of livestock I just might lose it. 🥲 I want my field of wild flowers and Siberian Elms... I think there's one tree in the backyard, aaand... No grass (my husband wants to fix that quickly).
I'm really grateful that God has blessed us with being able to find this house and everything going so well, but everything I've ever lived for is not here. Obviously now I'm living for different things but I didn't think I'd have absolutely NOTHING from home life. Literally even my hair won't curl the same because it's so arid here (I was kind of attached to those curls). 😂 So if I can have chickens I will probably just be a manic chicken lady, lol.
In short, life is going genuinely great and we are incredibly blessed, but I'm sad because nothing is the same. And also progressively more lonely because almost every week something comes up and I'm sick or very tired or something and I can't go to church to see everyone, and this week I've come regardless so I hope I can enjoy it and not be tired and miserable.
Anyways, on a positive note of all continues to go well and we CAN have chickens, there is a shed in the back that I think would be fantastic to partially convert into a chicken coop, with plenty of space for a run. There is a large dog area, too! With room still for a small raised bed garden and room for kids to eventually play. All just in the backyard! I think the frontyard is actually slightly larger. This city is extremely safe so it wouldn't be worrisome to let kids play in the front yard, we just can't build anything except specific types of fences in the front because of covenants, but heyy, there is no HOA!
