All The Stereotypes Of Australia

Quote:
They banned semi automatics pretty much... you can get them but the licensing is VERY hard..... They had a gun amnesty when the new laws came in (as a result of the Port ARthur Massacre) and this meant you could hand in your semi auto and get paid $ for it...

Personally I think of the awful Aborigine incident from way back when.

In the same way, mind you, that when I think of anyplace in the southern US I think of slavery and the western US I think of the Trail of Tears (Native Americans).
My friends don't like to work with me on American History projects for those reasons...

I'd be interested to know what Australians (and others) thought of Americans!

do ANY of you americans actually live in cowboy towns like a oneway dirt road with houses going up the sides with wooden verandas and shutters oh and dont forget the pub???? i would love to see that or are they only in the movies???

I live in a town of 350 folks. I'll have to take pictures. Obviously the town has changed quite a bit over the last 100 years, but you'll get the idea. Brick has replaced wood, but yeah, one road into town that now has 2 wide lanes.......

And the road my house lives on... Dirt road, 1 neighbor close by, and nothing beyond me

I love where I live as long as it isn't cold and snowing!
