Glad you made it back safe and sound. Okay I am pretty good with abbreviations what is SF? I think the EE sitting on the silkie is funny. What this about Impy coming to an end?

Thanks. We had some weather damage in the area. As we were driving home last night a weather bulletin came on the radio and said there was a tornado spotted in a town about 10 miles north of our farm, but we haven't heard any further news about it.

As for us, we have some very large tree limbs down all around the yard. One narrowly missed the propane tank and brahma coop; and a cypress fell on a section of the fence and crushed it. Our SIL said that a large portion of the bank on our small pond fell in, damaging the road but we haven't been down there to check it out yet. This was from the storm the other day. SIL said our neighbor has promised to bring a backhoe up here to fix that.

SF = salmon faverolles; as far as I'm concerned, the most broody breed of all. I get the bad feeling that Doe is planning on going broody every three months for the rest of her life.

Impy is a good rooster in every way, except that he's very hard on the hens bodies. Considering that he's mating all of the hens right now - his own and the brahma girls - I can't exactly put hen saddles on 26 hens. And there's nothing to do for the loss of feathers to their heads. I'm considering culling him.

I understand does this look like your EE and silkie this happened last week. Sourland it still does not count as a broody.
My BO blondie on top of Lola my Bantam EE Normal I don't Like Naked necked chickens but Impy is kind of cute wish he wasn't so hard on the hens.

My three young roosters - TJ is light brahma/dark brahma, Cash is turken and Rowdy is turken/EE are all turning into handsome young men. They look about ready to take over the flocks, TJ with the brahma hens, Cash and Rowdy with the mixed flock. I'm going to try and get pictures later on this week of the three newest chicks. The turkens over brahma have the prettiest colors I've ever seen on a chicken and the turken over brahma is almost pure white.
