all who are hatching quail

You know where Piedmont Alabama is?

I don't live anywhere near there....

Just kidding, go east into Georgia from piedmont and you'll be pretty close.

You really can't do anything about it you are just at a higher risk if one of those farms has experienced any large scale outbreaks. Many chickens of all types (no statistics available, but a whole lot of them, nation wide) are carriers of blackhead already, so farms are only part of your concern. As far as blackhead goes, there really isn't anything you can do to prevent it effectively, only manage it if contracted. In quail blackhead is rare unless you have chickens who are carriers and aren't practicing bio security.

Here is a link to more blackhead info, and here is a link regarding worms.

Since I've opened this can of worms and probably caused some unnecessary panic, here is a BYC thread that discusses treatment of blackhead by people who know more about the subject than I do.

Treatment of worms is based on the type of worm contracted.

Sorry to hijack the thread, wasn't trying to rattle anyone, just spread awareness of potential issues we can encounter raising poultry and game birds.
