I had one little guy (or gal) hatch about 4 hrs ago!!

I left him in the bator for a few hours til he was dry. He's now in the brooder, but doesn't seem too interested in food or water. I dipped his beak several times. I spread some food out on a paper towel, but again, no interest. Should I be concerned at this point? I've got several more that have pipped, but so far, only one hatch. I'll see if I can put up a pic.

I don't think you should worry, right now he is exhausted from the hatching. He'll become more interested by his second day, don't worry he also has yolk in his abdomen which will supply him with food and water for three days. So he should be fine, just let him sleep under the heat for now

Thanks Ducky. This is my first time, and I'm clueless. Still working on the pic. He sure is a noisy for something so little!

I know but so cute. Just make sure you dip his beak every few hours to sure he gets hydrated. He may have a yolk, but it is best to start as soon as possible so you don't end up trying to do it too late.

Yes, coturnix. I got my eggs from idhound (forum member). 8 More in the bator are out of the eggs.
