all who are hatching quail

My broody Silkie is sitting on coturnix eggs right now. She has successfully hatched clutches of chicken eggs several times. I expect her to be successful hatching quail too!

My D'uccle hen is also sitting on quail eggs, but she hasn't been great at keeping them under her so I'll be surprised if any hatch. This the first time she has went broody.

Update on my Silkie brooding quail eggs in about 2 weeks!

Oh you just have to let me know how they turn out! I want to do it so badly!!!

Day 17 and one of the quail eggs my broody Silkie has been sitting on has hatched! Hoping at least one more hatches!

ETA: it looks like at least one more has pipped!

Oh that's awesome! Hey do quail fight each other when you introduce new ones? Of course I mean fully grown new ones

In my experience, mature quail put together do not typically fight.

Hi all! I somehow managed to get a dozen Coturnix quail eggs, and I have no idea about what temp they need, how many days till hatching, or what protein requirements they have. I figured they'ed have the same basic temp req's as chickens, so I popped 'em in with my chicken hatching eggs at 99.5. They do have some blood vessels now, so I'm assuming that's what they're supposed to be at. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thanks!
