all who are hatching quail

Oh so cute! Keep us updated. I love to see what colors they turn out to be.
We up to 22 babies. 21 in the brooder and 1 late hatcher drying off in the incubator. These eggs came all the way from Arizona. We live in Southern Louisiana. It took the eggs 3 days before we got them. I set them for 24 hrs in a auto turner before incubating them.

Here is the gang in their brooder :)

They have had a long journey I glad they are fine. Lovely group, enjoy them now they grow all too quick! I need to get a pic of my trio.

Someone plezz help. I hatched some buttons and I'm not sure what variety they are. The are yellow and greyish blue chicks with red and orange stripes down there back. Anyone have ideas?

My disaster hatch seems to have come to an end.

My previous batch hatched a bit early (day 15) so I lowered the temps by about 1 degree. The first chick started hatching again on day 15. I'm running just under 100* on a still air incubator, two thermometers, and they still hatched early!

I didn't open the brooder or touch him but he hatched hunched over and with his yolk sac attached. It took him hours to get out, the 2nd one ended up out first. The first two had just hatched about 1am so I left them in the incubator until morning. I woke to a strange sound in the morning and it took me some time to realize the power was out. The temp in the incubator dropped quickly to 90* so I took it to my car and ran my car for 20-30 minutes to get it back up and fortunately the power came back up. Three were hatched, two were zipping. They all made it, minus the first one that died shortly after. None others hatched though there were a few pip holes. I'm guess the temps killed them.

So just four babies. Two were splay legged - I have no idea why since they were on paper towels at all times. Could the drop in temps do it since they were huddling their first hour? I did the band aid trick and it worked fantastic, they're running around now. Today is day 20 so I'm going to turn off the incubator and toss the eggs.

Anyone have a power back up? How do you have it rigged?
