How big were they eggs? Jumbos should weigh 13grams or more. Ten gram eggs are not jumbos. That being said if they are not fed properly they will not reach their size potential. What are you feeding your chicks and how often?

The first eggs these began to lay weigh 9.6 grams, a little smaller from where they came from. I feed them 28% pro gamebird feed. Always have fresh water and fresh food. They are seven weeks old and males probably weigh 7 ounce and females to 9, but I haven't weighed them since last week. They don't look any larger. I have to move them to another cage to make room for 24 little ones two weeks old in the laundry room at 89 degrees.

All this month I have babies that are going to be hatching... Today I put some on lock down 5 chicken eggs and 10 snowflake bobwhite ... They should hatch Monday or Tuesday

I'm finding this, I've bought Jumbos from 2 different sellers in Australia and they've arrived no bigger and some have been smaller than the quails/eggs I already have here! I'm not bothering anymore.

I've got 150 Japs in the incubator hatching right now!

I have some ebay "jumbos" but they aren't too bad. The hens run 11-12oz and avg egg is somewhere in the 11-12g range. They just grow slowly. I'll probably order some JMF eggs this fall so I have full-sized breeders in the spring.

Ok so Friday I put 8 quail eggs on lockdown. Not supposed to hatch until tomorrow which is day 16. They are currently hatching now.

My mini jumbos turn 7 weeks and I get 2-3 eggs a day from 13. I know for sure two are male. One is white with two black spots and ghe other is a 7 ounce one with rust color under the beard. The eggs are between 10-11 grams now.

How do you get a herd going and maintain 14 ounce stock? I'd like to raise my limit which is 100 a year without permit, or maybe raise fewer.
