I was repying to the large eggs and color. Marans produce nice colored eggs but get pretty lazy after awhile and does not produce great. If you are wanting a nice bird the Rhode island red, red star and black star will produce a nice large brown egg and the will be a great laying bird for much longer. i have been in the chicken farming for about 15 years now. the most important thing to remember is to have fun with them no matter what they are producing.
