Allie & Bino, the albino orpington chicks

How exciting! I suspect SOMEONE will be up all night, lol. With that many eggs you are bound to get at least 1 albino, I would think. Good luck to you!
ah , yes...but the trick is to get a live one....i have no idea on the quitters as they were pretty clear-so quit long before they could be identified colourwise.

mine are hatching!! i have 3 started-one is only pipped, the others are more advanced. what i can say for sure is the 2 advanced ones are pale-but i think they are buff and not albino.

There is no true buff in the flock. All the birds derive from lemon cuckoo rooster and blue and black hens as the original stock.
Those that look buff will generally show hints to half blue and or black. The gene seems to be carried through the limited barring in the rooster and follow in to some of the offspring.

I had 50+ eggs in my incubator, but my fan overheated and ruined them all.

so, as of this morning the last of the 3 under the silkies has pipped, and the two that hatched are definitely tan-ish. under Godzilla of the 6 viable eggs i have 3 hatched out! one is tan-ish one looks blue and one looks black (they are still wet)-still hoping to get an albino out of the 4 left.
