Hello all!

I know this is everyone's favorite game, but I am a brand new chicken owner and this Easter egger "pullet" has me questioning if she is truly a girl. I know it's early, but I was curious about this chick's coloring and comb gives anyone else an indication of her/his gender.

I can't have roos, so I'd like to know as soon as I can! Thanks so much!

In that last picture, do I see dirt on the wings or is that a little bit of reddish color feathers coming through?

If it's reddish coloring, he's a confirmed cockerel. If not, give it more time because the comb makes me lean male but the coloring could be female.

I see no current signs of roosterdom. Comb is pale, no male-specific feathering or coloring. Likely a pullet, but could be a slow developer. Comb does look a bit plump for a 5-week-old with a pea comb. Keep an eye out for rust-red coloring on the shoulders of the wings, that would indicate male. If the comb turns red before the bird is 4 months of age, you have a male.

I haven't seen any redness in this chick yet - maybe this picture helps more? Mostly just grey coloring.
