Almost 5 year old hen found non-responsive after cold and wet weather - trying to nurse her back

I wouldn’t leave her like that in the crate for a few days. She probably needs someone checking on her, and to keep her out of her droppings. I’d be tempted to put her back with her flock. Are they going to have someone checking on them? She could be wormed with Valbazen or SafeGuard.

Should I add the layer pellet or other type of food? The kids went and opened the crate to pet her and she opened one of her eyes! Hoping it’s good progress sign.
Opening her eyes is a bit hopeful.
I'd offer her some warmed sugar water, you want her hydrated first before you give her a lot of food.
After she's drinking, then you can offer a bit of her normal feed, some scrambled egg, a bit of canned cat food - just a little something to entice or interest her :)

Thanks! I put her beak in the warm sugar water and she didn’t drink so I dropped a few drops (about 5 or so) in her throat with a syringe. Hoping it would be enough to get her through the night - although I guess I’ll be up a few times overnight checking on her.

Thank you all for the help! It makes me feel better that I’m trying everything I know how to do.

I hope she perks up by morning.
Please keep us posted.

Morning all. So she pulled through the night in the warm house (we are under a freeze warning so glad I caught it when I did). She moved the slightest overnight and ended up with her head in the food bowl I put out but it was less than 2 inches so looks like she may have tried to stand and fell back over. Gave her a little more warm sugar water but there doesn’t seem to be much improvement.

I wasn’t expecting her to be fully up and running this morning but wondering if this is a situation that I can repair. I work in a school so will need to leave for majority of the day in about 45 minutes and will try more sugar water before I leave. I don’t want to give her too much - any idea of how much forces with a syringe is a good amount?

Thanks!
