This is my barred rock chick. She is currently almost 6 weeks old. Here's a picture of her. I think she might be a he because she has very visible wattles and a red comb. However her comb isn't nearly as big as a cockerel's should be. The first pic is at almost 6 weeks, and the last one is at 5 weeks old.

No picture. I think barred rocks can be sexed by the amount of barring. If you only have one, or one gender it can be harder to determine.

Oh thank God!!! I have 2 cockerels already, it would be horrible to have to re-home 2 of them ... I can only keep one.

Any update to this post? I have a 6 week old now that looks very similar and am also concerned.
She is a pullet! She's 11 and 1/2 week old and here's some photos from yesterday. Still big comb and wattles for her age, but her coloring, stance, wattles size, and other things assure that she's a pullet! If your pullet looks like mine at 6 weeks, coloring and all, she should be a pullet. Im pretty sure a cockerel at 6 weeks old would already have pretty heavy barring And lots of white on him. Also usually they will have a huge comb by that age too.
