Hello! I have baby chicks on order and we are sooo excited. We have a HUGE enclosed pen, but currently no home for them or nesting area. We have 15 chicks coming. Suggestions on the best way to go about making them or buying them sufficient housing? THANKS!

My best advice is to visit the following links.

For when you get your baby chicks:

For general chicken care and maintenance:

For a look at various coop designs:

For advice on building/maintaining your own coop and run:

Okay, so I know that's a lot of reading. But ask questions and peruse the posts - do searchers because whatever you want to know, it has almost certainly been asked before. Most of all, have fun and enjoy your poultry adventure!!
