Almost but not quite

I bought britetap chicken water set up. The whole 9 yards. I know people say their chickens won’t drink from the nipple waterers but mine absolutely won’t. After half a day in 90 degree heat I thought if there were some way I could put a cup waterer (which they will drink from, I tried rigging up something with a cooler and a watering cup. The problem I have is the watering cups threaded part isn’t quite long enough to put some type of nut to screw on it so it won’t work loose. It is so half rigged up that I have half a tube of water sealant and plumbers tape. It will fill with water but only if I push on the yellow part in the middle. For some reason it won’t fill up with the chickens pecking at it. It is so aggravating. This would be a perfect option. Clean cold drinking water....if I could find a work around. Does anyone have any ideas.

I have no idea what I’m looking at but it looks interesting. Is that like a large Gatorade type water container You’re using? Hope someone is able to help you out!

It is an Igloo cooler. The britetap site shows how to do it with the nipple waterer but I think the the threads are made longer to go completely through the walls of the cooler just for that set up

Did you train the chickens to tap at the Brite Tap? They don't always figure it out on their own so you have to show them how it works. Not sure what to suggest about fixing it to be compatible with the cup as I haven't tried using a cup waterer.

Oh yes I have tried and tried (and tried) and on more than one occasion. I don’t know why they won’t use it but I have emptied about a fourth of the cooler pressing on the nipple and showing them, but they just can’t or won’t get it. It is so frustrating

Get yourself a red sharpie and put a red dot on the yellow tab. It doesn't have to be a big one, just a dot that will peak their interest.
