well, I wasn't supposed to incubate eggs this early, the deal with hubby was I would wait for a broody hen.....
My name came up on a couple of lists so as I was contemplating upgrading my homemade bator......
I made a comment to dh about modifying a turner and he just stopped, and looked at me like I was crazy.

He said "so what, you just put the eggs in and just wait for the chicks? What's the fun in that?" So of course I say, yeah, I guess...
Apparently he thinks I enjoy the whole incubating thing, stressing to remember to turn, checking the temp all the time

So not to lose my *permission* to incubate I will have no turner

That's just funny. He is now questioning your insaneness!!!!

My wife knows I'm chicken insane but she is learning more about chickens everyday.

I did notice she wasn't happy when they started laying less.

I am finishing a batch without a turner too . . . but I found that even in my other bator that turned them, I was checking them all the time anyway. Unless there are tons of eggs, for me it is taking about the same time to turn them as it does to fuss over them and stare at the bator 50 times a day.

Happy hatching!
