Aloha Chicken Project, Update Sep. 2010

Here's a question: Is anyone interested in breeding a Banty version of these? I had a bad egg trade that served up mutts, but they look like they'd fit in here very well! Here are a couple of pics:

This is the roo- who already is very keen on protecting the 4 girls with whom he hatched- he's alerted and talked to them since the 2 wk stage!

Here is the flowery pullet, who nearly looks Mille Fleur-ish:

Both roo and pullet:

Here is one of the Mottled pullets. There are 3, and they become more and more mottled and white every day. They have gold coming through many feathers and in a Columbian pattern in their necks. This is the one with the least white. One of them has FULLY feathered legs and feet, d'Uccle-style.

There is the one cockerel, one orangey pullet, and 3 Mottled pullets. All have white skin and appear to be from similar stock, but are clearly not full pure Bantam Speckled Sussex, which they were supposed to be. They clearly came from similar eggs and all have a Mottled gene and gold, so I'm assuming Mom was a banty Speckled Sussex and someone got in where he wasn't supposed to have!

Just a thought! It may be another fun project, but I have sooooo many projects!

I just bought a speckled Game hen taht is very pretty. She was sold with three other hens which would have been great for this project. I did get a mille color game hen with a sraight comb. The others was a black and white mottle color one and a blue and white mottled color I wish I got them
