alternative weapons that will kill a coyote/racoon/opossum...?

I posted this scenario elsewhere but haven't gotten an answer yet and thought this would be a good place.

I have a question about SSS.
A pack of large dogs (neighbors) got into my coop and killed everything they could reach.
The neighbor paid up and said she wouldn't blame me if I shot the dogs.
She had her dogs picked up by animal control in an effort to have them rehomed.
When they were going to be put down, she renigged and picked them up and brought them back home.
She told me they were back but they would no longer be allowed out.
Here it is 2 months later and they were in my yard again 20 ft from one of the pens before they finally responded to her calls to come back home. They're very wild and she knows she can't control them.
I would normally use a high powered rifle but there is a retirement home about 100 yards through the woods behind the coops.
I think a 12 guage would be ok but haven't a clue what shot to use. They are Husky/Malamute mix.
Any suggestions from more experienced shot hunters?
Or other weapon options? I'm sure my pettet gun would just make them mad.
Thanks.

Buck shot or BB will do the job. Aim at the front shoulder. or if facing you... shoot under the nose.
If shot is placed the outcome will be instant.
Shoot under 40 yds or 120 feet.

I can't say what I want to say, so I'll just say that's pretty stupid

I agree!!! And can probably think of a few other things to say.

Dog food and anti-freeze is a pretty indiscriminate method. The likelihood of getting just the Coyote your targeting without getting somebody's cat, dog or some other untargetted species seems dubious at best. Having watched a childhood pet die from renal failure due to ingesting ethelyn glycol, I can assure you it is not a humane way to kill something. Given the opportunity, I'd still like to fill a "Prestone" bottle with green-colored sugar water and make the SOB neighbor who did it drink it.

I agree that any indiscriminate method will have unintended results so I would never do it.
I must say however that regardless of method, if a cat or dog got into something on my property, that animal wasn't where it was supposed to be.

#4 buckshot has performed very well on coyote, coons and fox for me out to distances of 50 yards with a full choke in 12 gauge.

Most sheriff dept. will have a stockpile of locks that they will give to you. But as others have said, any gun you buy new will come with one. We have a 10/22, about 10 shotguns, and some high powered rifles, and I keep a 9mm in the bedroom here and we have three children 4 and under. They have all been taught (what they can understand) that they are never to touch the guns without mommy or daddy's permission. All are kept unloaded with ammo locked away separately except the 10/22. It stays loaded, without one chambered, but in a locked cabinet. It has killed hundreds of predators throughout the years and put plenty of food on the table. I would not hesitate to own one. Ammo is also very cheap.

Tylenol is what causes liver failure it is used to knock down feral cat populations the usual dose is about a half a bottle ground up mixed with cat food ,the antifreeze destroys the kidneys.

If I am frustrated to the point that I would choose poison over shooting I probably would not be discriminate. Loosing birds gets old real quick.
