Woke up this morning and of course first thing.... I checked on the chickies in their brooder in our unfinished basement.
The bulb burned out during the night and they were all huddled together in one corner. The 4 Bantams just one little ball and the 3 bigger Polish around them (kinda cute).
I did have a second heat lamp bulb here so was able to fix it right away. They are happy campers again and went right back to eating and being goofy. Good that they are all at least 1 week old and not "brand new" babies.
Poor little guys.......

Gotta go to the farm store and buy another back up.......... just in case.

Very good advice! Everybody should make a note to self......"Get that extra bulb....."

wow sounds familiar...just got home from work 15 minutes ago...read the digital temp reading (wirelessly sent to kitchen) and it read 63...crap! ran downstairs and switched the bulb immediately. Will get a new back up immediately. Ours are between 2-3.5 weeks old, so like yours, hopefully NOT a huge deal, but I hope they are all okay!
