I have no doubt that the person that sold him to you knew he was a rooster. Not only the saddle feathers, but his coloring is unmistakably male. You were hornswaggled.

I agree, she knew what she was doing. I met her at night so the lighting was bad. I did actually notice the feathers but since I have no experience with roosters I thought maybe it was just the crossbreeding. I have 3 EEs and 1 of them has a similar feather pattern and lays lovely blue eggs. I did actually ask the lady "are you sure this is a hen" because I had my doubts but she assured me up and down that it was. I am just too trusting.

I am going to contact her - I don't care a ton about the money but she should know that I figured it out and hopefully she won't do it again.
