Am I an horrible person to consider euthanizing?

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation! It might be a good idea to try re-homing him first, if you have the time. Someone else may have the resources and time to treat him.

It took me weeks to find homes for my healthy roosters. I dont have high hopes of rehoming a special needs rooster.

Then it's probably within your best interest to cull him. It's a difficult thing to go through, like loosing any pet, but it's probably best for you and the rooster.

So if a human is disabled I guess you cull them to? No animals deserves to be cull for there special needs. I kept a disabled duck in my house for a long time. She got better. lived her life long and bold. Always traveled with me.

In this situation a human is different than a chicken. I treat my pets like my family, but if I knew they were in extreme pain without a good solution for the both of us, I wouldn't want them to be in that pain anymore. They did mention that the wry neck is not getting better.

I personally wouldn't cull the rooster, but my situation is different. I wouldn't have a relationship to save. I would have to balance it (Taking care of the rooster) with school, but a relationship is an entire different story. Based on the original post it seems like they're out of options. They can't rehome him, taking care of him is causing a ton of stress on their family. They're already juggling a bunch of other things. I guess I misspoke, but I'm honestly not sure how to respond to this any other way?

This animal is not disabled. This animal is ill and suffering. It is the responsible thing to put an end to an animals misery if they are suffering and cannot be cured.

Chickens are of different value then dogs are, just as dogs are of less value then people. Well I do agree with you about then feeling pain, I disagree with you on you opinion that just because the feel pain they are to be keep alive at all costs.

I have had to have one of my pets euthanized before, but he was in a lot of pain without a cure. This is a similar situation. An illness that is not getting better.

It's very hard to go through, but sometimes its for the best for the animal and their humans.
