Am I an horrible person to consider euthanizing?

I guess I agree on you with that. If its an emergency and no vet can help probably culling is. But chickens and both dogs both show affection and love we could compare dogs and chickens i agree on the last but not the first.
Every situation is different. I currently have a flock infected with MG. If one of my chicks ends up being male then I have to cull them. It sucks that it's my only choice but I cant have males and I cant rehome a bird that is now a carrier of a very infectious disease. I dont th ik nk it's ok to make someone feel bad for making a decision that they feel is best for their family and lifestyle.

So your saying dogs are better than chickens and dogs should be getting help and chickens should not? Chickens can be a dog I have a special chicken that always comes to me she is so sweet she lets me hold her she even hugs me when I come. Chickens can communicate affection with human with many languages for an example my lavender orpington hen Cloud she knows what hugs mean. I sit down and she jumps on me wand wraps her neck on me.
Honestly, if a dog was in pain and it didn’t look like there was a way to cure it, I might have the dog put down. I love animals so much and hate to see this, but it’s probably for the better.

I second this. I love my baby, Oreo, so much, but if she were in a lot of pain, getting worse, and couldn't be helped, I would euthanize her. I would hate to do it, but if I couldn't get her any help, I wouldn't want to see her in any pain.
That's a good pet owner. Heck, sometimes people are even presented with this option. If a loved one is so sick, the doctors cant so anything else, then you have to choose to take them off of life support or not. It's a decision that's has to be made sometimes. It's not easy but it's the best thing you could do for something you care about.

I guess I agree than.

I understand that it's hard seeing people suggest culling their chickens so often but it's always in the best interest of the bird. Chickens hide pain so once they are showing discomfort it's usually a sign that they are in a lot of pain. Then add in that sometimes we cant figure out what is wrong, it's the most humane thing to do for something that is suffering.

@the_peep_squad sorry you are going through so many challenges right now.

yes, I would cull this rooster bc 1. It isn’t getting better. 2. You are drained entirely. 3. It is causing unnecessary issues in other areas of your life. 4. It may have mareks ir other communicable fowl disease, and it would be irresponsible to re-home, and you don’t want to breed this male. 5. You can do so with confidence that you did a lot to assist and help this rooster.

I’m not one to put an animal above important relationships, so I’d be looking to peacefully end the older dog’s life at the vet. Maybe even seeing if a friend could foster, on a full time or part time basis the other dog (although I do not know about dog epilepsy, so don’t understand the problems or requirements).

good luck with whatever you decide to do.
