Am I an horrible person to consider euthanizing?

This animal is not disabled. This animal is ill and suffering. It is the responsible thing to put an end to an animals misery if they are suffering and cannot be cured.

Yes, there is a difference between sick (ie. suffering and in pain) and disabled (ie. decant quality of life but just rather different).

Chickens are of different value then dogs are, just as dogs are of less value then people. Well I do agree with you about then feeling pain, I disagree with you on you opinion that just because the feel pain they are to be keep alive at all costs.

Chickens can be a dog I have a special chicken that always comes to me she is so sweet she lets me hold her she even hugs me when I come. Chickens can communicate affection with human with many languages for an example my lavender orpington hen Cloud she knows what hugs mean. I sit down and she jumps on me wand wraps her neck on me.

I have had to have one of my pets euthanized before, but he was in a lot of pain without a cure. This is a similar situation. An illness that is not getting better.

It's very hard to go through, but sometimes its for the best for the animal and their humans.

So. They live to they have feelings and emotion and can feel pain. Would you euthanized a disabled dogs? Beacuse chickens and dogs both can gain special bonds with humans both have emotions and feel pain. Poultry animals deserve equality just because they look diffrent should not allow for them to be left out.

Would you raise a dog to eat? No. We cant compare dogs to chickens. And if my dog was sick, no vet could help him, and he was getting worse then yes, I would euthanize him because that's the greatest gift you can give an animal when they're suffering and you cant help them.

I guess I agree on you with that. If its an emergency and no vet can help probably culling is. But chickens and both dogs both show affection and love we could compare dogs and chickens i agree on the last but not the first.

There is no virtue in prolonging another's suffering simply to assuage your own feelings about killing. Its your bird, and your situation. You don't need our approval to do what needs to be done. But for what little its worth, you know my thinking on the subject.

it is a privilege to be able to have and own animals in the way you have, not all of us will be lucky enough to never encounter a hard situation in this scenario id cull the rooster he is sick, suffering, and rehoming him will not come easily additionally there's a possibility he will infect someone else's flock or will be passed to another person only to receive inadequate care for his condition resulting in prolonged pain that could have been avoided. you are not a bad person for culling this animal, all life is precious and a bird can be just as loving and significant as a dog that being said opportunities are not the same for roosters and as a farmer and a pet owner it is your job to make a call that is best for any animal in your care, we euthanize dogs who are in declining states of pain just the same as we would euthanize a bird

I second this. I love my baby, Oreo, so much, but if she were in a lot of pain, getting worse, and couldn't be helped, I would euthanize her. I would hate to do it, but if I couldn't get her any help, I wouldn't want to see her in any pain.
