I don't know where else to ask this, but this board is so helpful and responsive! Please tell me what you think:

I'm trying to sell a pickup truck on AutoTrader.com. I've been contacted by an interested buyer, two states away. We settled on a price via email. He said, "Okay I will get a certified cashiers check to you and when you receive and cleared it then I can arrange for the pick up." I replied I was not comfortable with that form of payment, but offered to use PayPal instead. He agreed. I said I'd write up a basic agreement for the sale, outlining the terms we had agreed to and identifying information on the truck and send that to him. Once he signs and sends it back, we can proceed. I said I'd release the signed title and a Bill of Sale once the payment had cleared my bank. I'm waiting on his response.

Meanwhile, I've just received another email from a different buyer, "Without wasting anytime, i would have like to meet up with you in person, But due to the nature of my job i wont be able to unfortunately... Im satisfied with both the condition and listed price, As for mode of payment, i will be overnighting you a Certified cheQue after its cleared, Then i will have the shippers come to your location for the picking up of the vehicle, Kindly Provide me with the below information..." asking for full name, address, cell number.

OK now my spidey senses are vibrating loudly. These two suggested the exact same method of payment and asked for the same information from me.
Are they both scams, do you think?

Both scams! Glad you were able to catch it in time!

The cashier check is a known scam issue, if I remember correctly, what they’ll do is “send” you a check for too much, and ask you to send the excess back. Once you send the “extra” back, the check won’t clear the bank, leaving you with bank fees and them with free money.
