Am I Crazy...

for getting couple day old chicks in FEB? I will be going to p/u so it's not like they have to be shipped. But I know that all the local feed stores don't start getting chicks until April. They should be fine right, as long as I keep them warm enough in their brooder? My last batch of chicks I got were in July...so this is my first experience w/ winter babies. Plus I'm in NC, so while it's been cold it's not nearly as cold as some of the snowy states. TIA

I have four silky babies that just hatched out in my upstairs kids bathroom and 7 more egg layer chicks(day olds) coming on Monday!!!

So...ummm..you're seriously asking us if you're CRAZY!!!???

Just have FUN and worry about the crazy part later!!!! This is my first time having baby chicks in the winter but I have to admit it's kinda COOL...after all what else is there to do??? As I write this it's STILL snowing outside!!!

So...these babies are a great project and fun for me & the kiddos! Blessings, Keri

If they get on okay through the postal system I should think they'll be fine.
I set eggs in my incubator on Xmas day and they hatched in January when we were down to -11C.
They all did fine and are now fat and feathery four week olds.
