Hi friends… I’m no stranger to this forum. I always am so appreciative of everyone’s help!
I just lost my Tuna today…a 2 year old EE who seemed to have salpingitis or some other reproductive issue. She laid a strange egg (not lash) but twisted and soft.. membrane hanging from vent last week and past 2 days declined fast. She had white stuff leaking from vent as well. I did all I could.. amoxicillian.. calcium.. Epsom baths. She didn’t appear egg bound.. I checked but maybe one broke? This is my 4th chicken under 3 years old that has passed.. 3 of which had a reproductive issue. I have another girl currently sick with what may be EYP but keeps fighting it. I cannot help but think I’m doing something wrong?! Is there something in my soil? Do I give too many treats? Are they eating something in my yard? My water? My head is spinning over the loss of these girls at such young ages
I have 5 very healthy girls left but anxious to go through this again. Is this what having chickens is like? Is this coming to lose them so soon to reproductive issues? This is tough!
